“Did you actually see we got 95 guys in this notebook?! Shouldn’t we slow down a bit?” Aileen asked.
“It’s been so much fun.”
“This thing has been the best idea Jules has ever had.” Said Vanessa.
“Isn’t that her?”
“Where?”
“That’s her Mini Cooper, isn’t it?”
“What’s she doing home?!”
“Does she know we gathered here?”
“Uhm, nope. Quickly into the dressing room!”
“Isn’t she going to find us? What is she needs something from there.”
“Good point!”
“Hey she’s got a guy with her!!” Vanessa remarked. “He’s blonde. And a cutie…I wonder if he has a twin brother…”
“We have to hide. Come on, today!”
“Sorry but we don’t have a hiding place!”
“Yes we do, come!” Jen dragged the two girls in a storage room that was not too big and comfortable.
“Ness, get your foot out of my eye, please!”
“Shh!! They’re opening the door.” Jen shushed them and crept the door a bit in order to see what was going on.
Meanwhile…
“Let me take your jacket.”
“Ah, thanks. Nice apartment. All yours?”
“Neah, I share it with a girl. I mean it’s her and she shares it with me, you know.”
“Yeah, I think.”
“Make yourself comfortable. Want something to drink?”
“Anything you have.”
“Then I’ll give you some Coke. We don’t own alcohol.”
“You should. Maybe for some nights in.” he winked and Julia blushed hard and became a walking tomato. “Is your friend coming home soon?”
“Not for an hour or so I think.”
“What?! An hour?! Are we gonna sit in this small cupboard for a whole hour or more?”Aileen complained.
“Shush!! She’s here, next to us, she might hear you!”
“But my feet hurt already!! I’m not going to stay here for an hour.”
“We’ll wait until they are out of the living room and we’ll try to sneak in my room.”
“Ok. Let’s hope they’re quick!”
“There you go.”
“So, what did you say you do?”
“I am a big boss for Campott/Kirk Communications, you know, the PR company.”
“I know that. I used to work with them.”
“You did? Why?”
“I had a small band once, about 5 years ago. It didn’t work out how we wanted but… we remained friends, the 5 of us.”
“Really? A band? How cool! What was its name?”
“Jaws.”
“Uhm, sorry, never heard of it.” Julia now had the biggest stupid grin on her face and in made the guy laugh hard.
“Don’t worry. Not more than 10 people did.”
“But that was 5 years ago. Why don’t you try putting up another band. I mean, you have some experience, maybe you’ll find very good talented people and have a new band.”
“Neaah. I appreciate that, but it’s too much for me. It’s not really what I want to do anymore. I like more me being a manager for different new talents. It’s frustrating because there’s a lot of stress going on when you want to launch someone’s career, but if you succeed then you feel like you’re on top of the world.”
“I believe you.”
“Can I use the bathroom?”
“Sure. It’s up the stairs and second on the left.”

“Thanks.” He went upstairs and 2 minutes after there was a loud bang coming from there. “Uhm, Jules can you come for a second?!”
“Now, now, it’s our time to go up. Come after me!” Jen went out of the small room and looked round the corner to see if anyone was around. “Shh, come, quickly and try to let everything standing behind you.”
“What happened, Thomas?”
“I knocked over that little bottle of something.”
“Oh, darn! That was Jen’s new perfume for her birthday.”
“Sorry! I am really sorry! I’ll buy her another one, I promise!”
“Don’t mind it. Let’s clean up or we’ll die smelling nice.”
“What was that?!” Tom said hearing a slam.
“What? I didn’t hear anything!”
“I could swear I heard a door slam, but whatever, maybe this smell damages my brain.”
“It’s possible.”
“Whew, we’re allright?”
“Yeah. Thank God he’s clumsy or we would have died in there.” Aileen said falling in the bed.
“But now we don’t know what’s happening now...”
“We’ve got worse problems than that. What are we going to do if they decide not to leave soon?”
“Of course we’ll stay in here!”
“Yeah, but I’m supposed to arrive home in 30 minutes. Jules knows I am never late when coming home.”
“Try getting out of the window.”
“Ness, we’re on the 4th floor...”
“Don’t you have some kind of cellar to go to then go outside from there?”
“The cellar is under the block. There’s no way of going out of the house; just the front door.”
“Maybe they’re not finished in the bathroom and you can say you came home earlier.”
“Girls, that’s the best idea. Ok, I need my shoes and my bag and gimme those 2 bags and my sunglasses.”
“Should we come too?”
“Of course you have to come. If she catches you in here how will you explain coming in?”
“Right, you’re right.” They got everything they had when they came in earlier and slowly made it to the front door where they put on the shoes. Jen grabbed the door knob, opened the door starting to talk to the others, then slamed it to be sure they were heard.
“Shit, she’s home and we haven’t finished cleaning here.”
“Julieeee! I’m home and I’m with Ily and Ness!”
“Heeey girls, so nice to see you!” She said kissing her cheeks, but there was another bang in the bathroom.
“Who’s there?” Jen asked pretending to be curious.
“Oh, it’s a guy.”
“A guy you say? Who?”
“Thomas. He invited me to coffee after work today and I went. He’s pretty awesome.”
“Is he cute?” Ness asked.
“Dead cute!” Julia smiled and blushed, then he came out of the bathroom. “Tom, these are Jen Vanessa and Aileen. They’re my best friends. Girls, this is Tom.”
“Hello Tom, very nice to meet you.” They said at once then went to shake hands with the guy.
“He’s really really cute. Got a twin brother?” Vanessa whispered in Julia’s ear.
“Don’t start. No, he doesn’t.”
“Shame!” she continued and grinned.
“Well, I guess we’ll let you at you job and we’ll go in my bedroom. Call me if you need something!”
“Yeah, sure.”
“What is this smell?” Jen stopped from going inside the bedroom as she smelt something that she didn’t before she pretended to arrive. She went inside the bathroom and the perfume scent could drive you crazy. “What the? Jules, was this my new Nina Ricci?”
“Uhm, yeah. I’m so sorry, Jen. I’ll buy you another one. I promise!”
“It was my fault.” Tom came between them. “I knocked over the bottle when I went at the toilet. I promise I’ll buy you another one straight away!”
“Don’t mind it. It’s ok, not too much damage, but next time be careful what you knock over.” Jen continued calmly and went inside the room.
“Well, that was easy! No blood.”
“Yeah, she was in a good mood or else we’d be dead now.”
“Hmm, you smell funny.”
“What?” Julia said checking her blouse.
“Let me see what you got here.” Tom came in closer and in a moment caught her lips with his in a magical kiss.
“Girls girls!” Ily called out when she saw. They didn’t give up on spying the 2, so they were very happy about what was happening.
“Ok. Now I smell funny too.”
“Well, I think we can fix the funny smell at you too.” Julia winked and they sat on the couch, kissing passionately.
“Uhm, I think we’re too many here. Shouldn’t we find something to do and leave the lovebirds alone now?”
“Maybe you’re right.” They closed the door and put on some music, trying not to speak about the situation and make decisions that weren’t theirs to be made.

“Daniel, I need that! Please, give it back!” Vanessa banged with her fists on her bedroom door.
“No!” he laughed nonchalantly.
“You’re such a pain! Please, Daniel, I really have to be there in 10 minutes and I need to have that thing with me.”
“Why?”
“Stop acting like a kid! Don’t you see that’s my entrance card?! I cannot go inside the building without that thing; please give it to me!”
“Hmm, I’ll give it to you if we’ll go out for dinner tonight. And that is going to be a date!”
“Date? Tonight? I don’t know… I had other plans. “
“Then you won’t get this!”
“Okay, okay. Dinner at 8! Now give that back!” The door opened and he held out his hand with the card. She rushed towards the her car and sped, trying to get in time for her photo shoot.
Later, after the shoot she was drinking her cappuccino in an café close by. She loved that café and coming there everyday has become a routine.
“Jen, what’s up?” she picked up the phone.
“Hey Ness, I bought 2 tickets for the concert tonight. Wanna join me?”
“Uhm, I would love to…But…”
“There is a but? I thought you loved Coldplay!”
“Well, obviously, I do! But I kinda have other plans; or at least, I was forced to change them.”
“What do you mean?”
“I have a… date. There, I said it.”
“A date? You kiddin me? Who’s the unlucky guy that’s gonna get his dreams crumpled?”
“Uhm… Well…”
“Well?”
“It’s your brother!” her cheeks turned a light red.
“Daniel?! Are you serious?!”
“Yeah…”
“That cheeky little bastard! How did he manage?”
“Well, it’s a bit of a story.”
“I’m all ears!”
“Right. So, he came to my apartment; said you sent him to pick up i-don’t-know-what stuff and I tried to tell him that I don’t have what he was asking for and nor I had the time to look for it. I had my entrance card on my kitchen shelf, but I forgot to take the car keys from the bedroom; so I went and got them, but when I came back the card was gone…”
“This brother of mine is screwed for life!” Jen sounded pretty angry because it wasn’t the first time her brother used her name to get something he wanted, or introducing himself to someone Jen knew.
“Ok, I’ll go on. So, I started questioning him about the card and he had this dumb smile on his face; he showed the card to me, then ran upstairs and locked himself in a room. He wouldn’t have given me the card if I didn’t accept his date. So what was I supposed to do?”
“Go without it.”
“It’s impossible! They let no one inside without an ID!”
“You had yours in your purse.”
“Not that kind of ID because anyone can forge that! I was talking about the card.”
“Alright, alright! Don’t worry! Your date is cancelled because Daniel is going to be dead at that hour!”
“NO! Please! I’ll go and meet him. You can take Aileen with you!”
“She’s in LA!”
“Right! Then you can take Julie!”
“She’s spending the night with Tom and his parents in Liverpool.”
“Ooh, I forgot that! Well, then, why don’t you take Harry? I bet he’d be willing!”
“Harry?! Why Harry?”
“Oh come on! I know you have a sweet eye for him!”
“Well, I think I could take him… Ok, I’ll call him, see if he can come.”
“Ok. That is perfect!”
“Wait, you can’t fool me now!”
“What? Fool you with what?”
“I know I’m not the only one having a sweet eye for someone, am I?”
“I don’t understand what you mean…”
“You really want to go on a date with Danny, but you’ve been playing the you-can’t-get-me-that-easy girl, don’t you?”
“Oh, well, seems like your lie detector senses haven’t failed you this time.” Vanessa giggled lightly and sighed.
“Ha! I knew it! You’re falling for Danny! You’re falling for Danny!” Jen chanted.
“ What are you? Five?”
“Don’t be scanty! You can’t fool me.”
“Ok, ok, fine! I think I am, but can you please stop? You’re not making this easier!”
“Sure, sorry. Now, Danny’s sister advice or asking: please don’t let him eat or talk too much! He has the tendency to do that on dates. Don’t be scared, just stop him!”
“Haha, thanks for that! I’ll keep an eye open. Good luck with Harry!”
“Yeah, thanks! See ya tomorrow!”
“Yep; bye-bye!”
“Bye!”
